I had a moment in time a few weeks ago when gratitude came upon me swiftly and unexpectedly and therefore did so with a power that the intentional operation of my memory could never rival.
We are the lucky ones. No doubt about it. I gave up Thanksgiving with great relief when I moved to England, so no formalities here, but remain aware that I have many many things to be thankful for. The enduring love for (and from) my husband Ray being one of the most important.
Too cute, indeed. Debbie is an especially beautiful woman. She looks not a day over thirty-five.
But gratitude is, imo, a muscle. That grows stronger with regular use. And withers when the mind dwells overmuch in fear, anger, and delusion. Thanksgiving as such, is the penultimate American holiday, to collectively remind us of the exceptional opportunities that bless us in this bountiful land.
I love this—proof that the best gratitude is the kind that sneaks up, grabs you by the heart, and refuses to be scheduled between appetizers. You two are beyond cute. May all of us get at least one unscripted, ‘oh wow, this is my person’ moment this holiday season.
That is BEAUTIFUL. I'm not USA but I felt real gratitude this morning towards Heaven and God because I live among Honest People. I do and I felt that. Festivus, and why not? All festivals, rituals and ceremonies were 'designed' by some people or other even if God inspired them. I'm not a nice person and I've stopped even trying to pass as one so I hope you dont mind me too much sneaking under the wire! Honest people are challenging but you know where you are.

And you live in England.👌☔👑
Yes, I moved here nearly 60 years ago with my English husband. I never liked Thanksgiving.
You two are too cute!!! And she is beautiful! Wishing you and your family a happy Thanksgiving.

And that land is YOUR land remember.
"From California, to the..."
Manifest Destiny notwithstanding, don't know if it's anybody's land really...
Your love story with Debbie is among the best stories in the world.
This is beautiful, David. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Debbie and your family.
You are a great-looking couple- and you ARE a handsome man- don't ever think otherwise!
So sweet and lovely. Beautiful picture and love that you ended this heartfelt tribute with humor. Happy Festivus.
Love love love. Happy Thanksgiving David.
Dear David, I wish you and each one of your loved ones a most peaceful day of sharing love and thanks - Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
I love this beautiful post David. Wishing you and Debbie a very happy Thanksgiving.
This makes me so happy. A happy marriage is hardly clickbait, but I can't imagine anything I value or appreciate more.
It should be!
Whoa! I couldn't do better than re-post all the comments below. I'll spare us that, and just say Thanks!
Charming read on this snowy Thanksgiving day. Debbie and I look and share similarities. Thanks for sharing.

"and it would be as hard for us to count the kisses we give each other in an hour as the flowers of a field in the month of May."
Happy Thanksgiving.
